Ohio's Oldest Hotel

The Golden Lamb Inn is the oldest hotel in Ohio, having been established in Lebanon, Ohio, a town in southwestern Ohio in 1803. The present four-story structure is built around the 1815 rebuilding of the inn, maintaining its colonial architecture.

Saturday, my son, Scott and his girlfriend, Lisa, stopped to see it while we were out driving. It was a wonderful building full of history.

The Golden Lamb was visited by so many prominent guests in the early 1800's because it was located halfway between Cincinnati and the National Road (U.S. 40).

The Golden Lamb has been visited by twelve American Presidents: Willam Henry Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, John Quincy Adams, Martin Van Buren, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James A. Garfield, William cKinley, Warren G. Harding, William Howard Taft, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush.

Other famous guests to visit the Golden Lamb include Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Daniel Webster, Bill McIntire, Thomas Corwin, Clement Vallandigham, Dordell Hull, Robert A Taft, Dewitt Clinton, and Lord Stanley, who later became prime minister of the United Kingdom.

It has eighteen historical rooms in which you can stay overnight. Each room is named after a famous guest who has stayed in the hotel and the rooms are furnished with antiques. It's beautiful with a museum on the top floor.

It is also said to be haunted.

It's strange. As I get older priorities change. I would rather spend more time with family than to lose weight. And I'll never be organized. It's just not that important.

I would like to enjoy life to the fullest, be healthy, learn something exciting, help others in their dreams, and as I said most important of all - SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY!

None of us are sure about 2014 and what it will bring into our lives. I know we all strive for happiness.

I found my greatest happiness comes from making memories with family and friends and my relationship with God.

I read these verses to remind me in this New Year to trust God and know that He is in control.

This is just one of my "Best Days Ever." I know I'm going to have a lot more "Best Day Ever" Days. I love having fun, especially with my grand kids. Besides, who wants to grow up anyway.

I haven't had Internet for a few days and I'm behind on my posts.

I've been having a great time seeing family.

Christmas seemed strange this year. I kept thinking it would be easier, but I still miss sharing Christmas with Jerry.
I have a great family and friends who I share Christmas with and who help me to make many new memories.
