Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

It was two months and one day ago that Jerry was first diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Since then it has been like we have been on a Merry-Go-Round ride that just doesn't stop. We have felt every emotion - good and bad. We have cried and we have laughed. But through it all, we have continually brought our focus back to the Lord Jesus knowing He's the Author and Finisher of our faith. And we have never wanted anything but His perfect will for our lives.

When I first got saved and Jerry rededicated his life, one of the first hymns we learned was -

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace.

God Bless and We Love You,
Jerry and Patricia

  1. From Danielle Harris: Dr. Rice we are praying for you. We love you and will miss you really bad at GCA. Daddy told us he saw you at the hospital and that you were looking pretty good. I hope this time it works and you will get better. Love Danielle.

    – Scientists are reporting the first clear success with a new approach for treating leukemia — turning the patients' own blood cells into assassins that hunt and destroy their cancer cells. They've only done it in three patients so far, but the results were striking: Two appear cancer-free up to a year after treatment, and the third patient is improved but still has some cancer. Scientists are already preparing to try the same gene therapy technique for other kinds of cancer.

  4. Everything can be taken from a person but one thing; the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances. (Victor Frankl) What attitude do I choose, nurture, and try to sustain within myself each day?
Jerry & Pat, What beautiful attitudes you both have. You are both a true testimony for each of us. We pray each day for your healing, strength, and peace. We love you
